International Picota Cherry Day is celebrated on 15th June!
Through this campaign, PDO Cherries from the Jerte Valley aim to promote knowledge about the characteristics of the exclusive Jerte variety; they are the only variety that fall from the tree without its stalk, they have a meatier and crunchier texture, they are smaller in size (22-28 millimetres), they have a sweeter flavour, a more intense and darker colour and a longer shelf life.
