This was the event to celebrate the start of the season

Last Thursday 30th, IBERICA restaurant witnessed the start of the season of European picotas from the Jerte Valley.

The event started with welcome drinks and networking, which lasted until 12:40pm.

Guests then tasted picota cherries from the Jerte Valley and were able to learn about the quality of this European gem first-hand while the introduction to the talk was given by 3 renowned speakers; firstly, Ana Ester Luengo (Agrupación de Cooperativas del Vallle del Jerte) gave an overview of the cultivation and characteristics of picota cherries. Emma Gough (Promar International Ltd) then presented research into the UK market for this fruit and, finally, John Valentine (Red Communications) explained the promotion plan that is being considered in the UK for this season.

The event ended with the tasting of the meal prepared by Nacho Manzano, who succeeded in making the guests enjoy this wonderful fruit through different textures and combinations.
