Chef Toño Pérez, a three-Michelin-star chef from the Atrio Restaurant, has been awarded the 2023 Picota del Jerte Excellence Award for his commitment to promoting and incorporating cherries into his cuisine. The award was presented by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, Population, and Territory of the Extremadura Regional Government and the President of the Regulatory Council at the Salón Gourmets (IFEMA). The chef emphasized that «Jerte cherries offer a great deal of versatility and personality to cuisine, and they are a marvelous product.»
